I was running my mouth this morning when I realized I didn't know for sure what I was talking about:
"After the removal of the “21 Marz 1933” the broad blank fields of these coins became billboards for anti-regime graffiti artists. That’s what I’ve deduced from glancing references to the practice in print and on the (movie) screen, anyway—I’ve never seen an actual example. But come to think of it, I’ve never really looked. I need to…."
So, can anyone please tell me yes or no, or anything else about graffiti--anti-regime or otherwise--on the 5RM of 1934-35?

Hello villa,
According to Jaeger the 5 Rm- Garrison -church of Potsdam with no motto was sometimes used as an instrument of anti Hitler propaganda by engraving slogans like " Hitler go to hell " or " The Red front may win ". While the Reichsbank demanded such pieces, if found, withdrawn, as the alteration made them no longer legal tender due to the metall -loss, the Gestapo ordered the coins to stay in circulation in order to see if they could trace those who committed the alteration. Jaeger does not state if they succeded, nor how many altered coins there where discovered.
