Not German, but Portuguese - J. V. = Joao V.

The owner of this "jewel" should provide the legend, for him it's readable, from the photo (even from "blow up") it isn't.

Because of the III we thought it is a 3 Pfennig and therfore we could not find the right match.
Never thought it is a coin of Portugal.
