Ich bin auf der Suche nach richtigen Zeitpunkt für ungültig Reichsmünzen. Datum der Reichspfennig münzen bekannt sind. Datum der Reichsmark münzen sind verwirrend.
Was ist richtig? (2RM und 5RM)
Ich habe eine Datenquelle sagen (Münzen und Papiergeld):
Ich habe andere Datenquelle sagen (Jaeger 1991):
Code: Alles auswählen
BDR W.Berlin Saarland DDR E.Berlin Austria
20.9.1945 25.9.1945 20.1.1946 20.9.1945 25.9.1945 24.12.1947
Beide quelle sich auf alle anderen münze...
Danke

Hallo...
I've had a REALLY BAD few weeks, that I'm NOT going to get into here (it continues to get worse). So im trying to get SOME work done to distract myself.
It appears the SECOND set of dates above, from Jaeger, are wrong. These dates refer to orders issued to hand in all Silver coins, BUT theyre not demonetisation orders
The question is, What exactly were these orders and what was the point of them, if the coins remained in circulation for another 2-3 years?

There were no official orders for remain but only withdrawal orders due to the dates formerly described.
You must know, that is is specific to German Law, there's never an explicit withdrawal of former legal circumstances, but a new order, replacing them.
So - as mentioned before - after WW2 3rd Reich coins were not demonetized by law due to a withdrawing order but with a proposal of new currency equivalents.

Stefan

Hmmm, OK... I found a copy of Proklamation Nr. 2, yesterday (20.9.1945) that effectively Demonetised the Silver RM coins. Its interesting...
So Petzlaff, there is NO explicit order in 1948, that says the DM is now the Currency, and the RM Currency is no longer accepted after these dates?

Hi Zaggy,
Please refer to Military Government edict of the US/British Occupation Zone (Monetary Law No.61) resp. Military Government of the French Occupation Zone (Monetary Law No.158).
The Laws "Währungsgesetz" were officially announced to the public an Saturday, June 19th 1948
regards
Stefan

Ja, I have found this order now...
Doesnt mention at ALL coins of denominations 2RM and 5RM, just the 1, 5, 10 und 50Rpf.
The more I look, the more I think that 20.9.1945 was effectively the end of the 2RM and 5RM coins. The Soviets, in July issued a similiar order, giving EVERYONE 5 Days to turn over ALL Gold and Silber coins and making it an offense NOT too. Basically, it made the 2RM and 5RM illegal to possess and therefore not really legal currency!
I much prefer the German Way of doing things, with RGB and BGB articles. The Allied orders are not as clear as the German ones. BUT at least with most of the Documents now (still trying to find the exact text of the Austrian (24.12.1947) and Saar (Jan.1946) Währungsgesetz) I have a better picture of what was going on...
