In meiner 2 Mark Sachsen Coburg und Gotha von 1895 befinden sich im Riffelrand exakt bei 6.00 und 12.00 Uhr zwei ca. 1mm grosse saubere Löcher. Wo kommen die her und handelt es sich dabei um eine Variante, die sich bei 2 Mark Münzen häufiger findet?

Die Löcher wurden wohl für eine Fassung der Münze gebohrt. Grüße, KarlAntonMartini

Vielen Dank für die Antwort. Passt ganz gut. Ich fürchte, dass das den Wert der Münze nicht positiv beeinflusst. Habe mir darüber noch nie Gedanken gemacht.

Schade um die Münze, zum Glück sieht man das nicht auf dem Tablett.

I bought mine as a curiosity (I was able to detect the damage beforehand despite its being in a 2 x 2 because of a slight bulge in the top of the rim). Anyway, the idea of showing partiality to a King Christian or a King Frederik, depending on the situation, really tickled me.

Guess I should have gotten rid of it the last time silver got so high, but I just couldn’t.
