Hallo zusammen,

ich komme bei folgenden Münzen nicht weiter. Die erste (9.4 g, 23 mm) sollte ein Rupee aus Afghanistan sein (ähnlich wie: http://www.coinarchives.com/w/lotviewer ... 9&Lot=1587)

Die zweite ist entweder aus Nepal oder Cooch Bihar (5.2 g, 23 mm).
Kennt sich jemand aus? Vielen Dank für alle Antworten.

Oben ist tatsächlich eine afghanische Rupie. Ich meine Kabul erkennen zu können. Das Jahr find ich nicht, und den Herrscher habe ich auch noch nicht identifizieren können; da musst Du wohl auf klaupo warten. Das rechte Bild bitte um 90° im Uhrzeigersinn drehen!
Unten ist ein Paisa aus Nepal. Beide Bilder stehen auf dem Kopf. Nach der Drehung ist im linken scan unten im dunklen Feld die Jahreszahl zu erkennen - oder eben auch nicht bei dieser Erhaltung. KM # 628 (AD 1892- 1907).

As Afrasi said, the rupee was minted in Kabul - it says "Kabul" on the reverse (right hand image). It was minted during the first reign of Dost Muhammad (1824-1839) in the name of his father, Payinda Khan. In my 1996 version of "World Coins" it is catalogued as KM# 480.1. The coin illustrated in the catalogue does not look exactly like your coin, but the inscription is the same - it's just that the legend on obverse is arranged differently. As the note in the catalogue says, there are "Various arrangements of obverse couplet and various borders on reverse". On your coin, the obverse inscription begins in the center section, continues in the bottom section and finishes at the top. Like this:

center line: شمس و قمربه سٻم و طلا مٻدھد
bottom line: نوٻد و قت رواج
top line: سكه پاٻنده خان رسٻد
