This is one more of my old family coins, which I have identified as a Hessen-Kassel 3 Heller from 1735. However, the bust on the obverse is different from that pictured in my book. I would appreciate any information anyone might have about this variation. Thank you for your help.

But what do you mean with "the bust on the obverse is different from that pictured in my book"? Little Varieties are usual during that period of time.

Or is the bust in your book totally different from your coin, e.g. bust to left or something like this?
The photo in the Schön catalogue shows the same bust and the same inscription as your coin.

Maybe the coin in your book is a different year. Since year 1737 the 3 Heller looks a bit different.

Aber was meinst du mit "das Brustbild auf der Vorderseite ist anders als das in meinem Buch abgebildete"? Kleine Unterschiede sind in dieser Zeit ganz normal.

Oder ist das Brustbild in deinem Buch völlig anders, z.B. nach links anstatt nach rechts?
Das Foto im Schön-Katalog zeigt jedenfalls das gleiche Brustbild und auch die gleiche Umschrift wie deine Münze.

Vielleicht ist die Münze in deinem Buch ein anderer Jahrgang. Seit 1737 sehen die 3 Heller etwas anders aus.

some books list the two types under different numbers:
Type 1 with the smaller bust is Hoffm. 1989; Schütz 1596 and type 2 with the bigger bust (as your coin and the one in the Schön catalog) is Hoffm. 1990 ; Schütz 1596.1.
