Re: Where is the mint Plan?
Bassano (del Grappa) was a barony formally owned by the Emperor Sigismund who created it "Reichsgrafschaft" in 1437 and bequeathed it to his chancellor Kaspar Schlick. He had no real chance to get in possession of the county as the Republic of Venice regarded it as a part of the "terra ferma". The same destiny befell Schlick regarding the County of Toggenburg (today: Switzerland) and the Principality of Wenden (Mecklenburg), titles he (and his family) never bore. But the titles of Reichsgraf von Passaun and Herr zu Weißkirchen (then Moravia as a part of Hungary) were used in the Schlick family still in the 19th century. - Kaspar Schlick (ca. 1390-1449) had served the Emperor as Chancellor and because of his wealth was chosen as husband of a daughter of the silesian duke of Oels. Therefore the title of Reichsgraf was important to elevate Schlick to a similiar social status. Today historians discuss that Kaspar Schlicks heirs may have forged the Letter of Nobility which originally bestowed only a personal title. - What does S A mean? Forrer lists this abbreviature only for Samuel Ammon who worked 1614 to 1621 in Danzig.

The Arms of County of Bassano ( visible is in the middle of the shild: two lions at side of a tower) is used today as the present Bassano city arms

The lion bringing a church is the arms of Weisskirchen
The other with three annulets is unknown for me....who know it?

"Auf rotem Grund eine Spitze mit geschweiften Schenkeln und drei Ringen (rot und weiß)." the arms of the Schlick family. - Danke an GS: Die Hl.- Anna selbdritt hab ich erst jetzt erkannt. Da die Schlicks sonst mit St. Joachim ihren Ehemann verehrten, paßt sie in die Familie.
