1/2 silber groschen question

Hello,

Sorry if this the wrong place to ask.
I have found a Prussian 1820s 1/2 silber groschen on the Thames in London. However, it appears to be made of copper not silver. Does anyone know if these coins were copper and plated with silver? Or perhaps this is a contemporary forge made of cheaper metal?

Thanks!

Hello,
the prussian Silbergroschen are not fine silver, it is .222 fine... so found pieces can look like copper. A forge is possible, too.

Do you have a picture of your coin ?

Thanks for your response. I think it may be a forge, there appears to be some traces of plating that's mostly worn off.
I'll upload photos later this evening when I have a chance.
Cheers

Some photos of the coin, the reverse isn't in such good condition.
