Please excuse that I cannot speak German.

I am trying to understand what this coin is. It is 23mm and 7.3g.

It looks the same as the Prussia, 1701 (Friedrich I) one Ducat. But it appears to be silver, not gold, and the weight is much more than 3.45g.

This coin came from my grandfather's collection. He lived in Berlin from 1868 to 1939. He also had a pattern or proof coin of the 1740 Friedrich II one ducat.

thanks, Michael

Hello Michael,

It is supposed to be a thick silver strike of the ducat for the coronation in 1701.
