Tesserae nummulariae waren vierkantige, aus Bein gefertigte Marken, die mit den Namen der amtierenden Konsuln beschriftet wurden. Sie sind Prüf- und Datierhilfen. Mit ihnen wurden Geldsäcke gekennzeichnet.
