Legenda av : POSTV / Postumus? . Front portrait of Postumus is very rare !
Coin found in a terps, in The Netherlands , where more Roman coins and objects are found.

From the visible tooling marks (german "Eingetrieben") on the back in the middle of the temple you can see the frontal Portrait wasnt always there.

Very likely a "modern" work for jewelery purposes.

I expect as a Revers legend: P M TR P VI COS III P P
Yet I also cannot find a good match as a original coin.

Very interesting ! This " modern" work for jewellery purpose was this made in the Roman periode or mutch later ?
I ' am still searching fot the original coin with this legenda and temple on the rev.
By Postumus no match until now.

Never seen before.

Die Rückseite entspricht dem Aureus "Mairat 323", allerdings eine andere Vorderseite

Ich postuliere jetzt ganz frech, daß es sich um einen Silberabschlag eines unpublizierten Aureus ähnlich Mairat 323 handelt - mit anderer Vorderseite.
Bei Postumus gibt es immer wieder Überraschungen.
Sollte man Mairat informieren.

Wenn ich jetzt diesen Tempel sehe muss ich meinen Metalltriebvorschlag auch wieder einpacken.
Das sieht doch bereits natürlich zurückgesetzt aus.

Ich glaube, da haben wir uns alle von dieser seltsamen Rückseite und von der Seltenheit eines Frontalportraits täuschen lassen. Gut, dass Zwerg das Stück nun richtig erkannt hat und Gratulation an Pinpoint zu dieser Rarität !

Solche Stücke sind äußerst selten.
Für mich sieht die Münze ebenfalls antik und echt aus.

Ich halte die Münze für absolut echt und ausgesprochen rar. Eine Zierde für jede Sammlung!

Mich wundert, dass sich plötzlich alle sicher sind, dass die Münze echt sei, wo doch sonst immer, korrekter Weise, gesagt wird, man müsste das Stück in der Hand/unterm Mikroskop begutachten. Die Fotos sind nicht die besten...
