Can anyone please say whether this triangular hole is an official cancellation of some sort?

v.Hello villa66, this is an official edition of the city of Frankfurt.
Menzel's catalog shows triangular holed 10 Pfennig coins. The coins were stamped by the company of Jörgum & Trefz, Frankfurt/Main.
