Hello Everybody,

Please help me in identifying this old coin: this is a brakteat but I don't know its origin. There is a figure with thin legs on it, with a halo above his head. Ono the right hand side of the coin a cross can be seen. I cannot read the script, and I don't know the size either because the coin is not mine, I only received a photo of it.

Hallo stealth, das dürfte eigentlich kein Brakteat sein. Die Umschrift S. LADIS-LAVS R ist deutlich zu lesen, die dargestellte Person ist also der heilige Ladislaus, und ich vermute, dass auf der Rückseite der Münze der Wappenschild Ungarn-Anjou abgebildet ist. Das Zeichen rechts im Feld ist ein Monogramm aus F und B (ein langes F und unten rechts klein das B drangeschrieben), das ist nach Pohl, Münzzeichen und Meisterzeichen auf ungarischen Münzen des Mittelalters, das Zeichen des Kammergrafen Franciscus Bernardi, 1359-1364. Die gezeigte Münze ist wohl der ungarische Denar Huszár 543.

You are right! This is a hungarian coin, but the backside shows the inverse version of the frontside In the Hungarian Coin Catolog there is one coin that resembles this, but it is not what you are writing about. It is Éh 429 ( Huszár 542) ( Ladislaus hold the apple in front of his body) Maybe it's a rare stamp?
