Hello ,

All info welcome of this unknown coin.
Anyone recognize this kind of hairstyle on coins ?
Is It a men's or women's bust ? If It is a women's bust maybe there is a connection with a Stift or women's diosciese.
In my opinion Italian origine .

Hello Pinpoint,

If you want to search for italy, you can refer the CNI, its online as pdf in 20 parts. There you will find a lot of tables in the single parts.
I had a look over today but only finished the half, maybe a can go on the weekend.

Hello,

Maybe Lombardia FRANCESCO II GONZAGA MARCHESE IV (1484-1519) CNI.83

I think its not really your coin but its a hint, the bust is a madonna picture. If you can identify your inscription it would be helpful.

Hallo TorWil,

Thanks for your help so far.
I posted this coin already on a Italian numismatic forum .
They didn't regnozise it as Italian origine.

Hi, the Avers Look very similar to:

Stift Essen
Elisabeth von Nassau-Hadamar (1370-1413)
Heinz Josef Kramer, Das Stift Essen, Mützen und Medaillen, Münster 1993, Nr. 15 or 17.

But the revers shows a different sign. Anyhow, Kramer describes the Avers as:
Bild der Äbtissin mit Nonnenschleier von vorn.

So you might search further for Stifts with permission to slag coins near the Dutch/German Borders in 14/15 century.
