Hello Gundars,
the coin with the star is a real coin, in fact. It is from Morocco. Something similar we had a few weeks ago:
http://www.numismatikforum.de/ftopic29789.html
Could you tell us the weight and the diameter of the coin, please? This would be helpful to identify the denomination. Unfortunately date and mint cannot be seen on the image. Perhaps you can try to scan a slightly better photo (less dpi, 100dpi are enough, but a higher compression around 400%).
Regards
MG

Hello Gundars,
referring to the first "coin", I am sure that is not a coin, but "belly money". This are very thin remakes of coins, which the oriental dancers put on there tight dresses to jingle with them by dancing.
I think, we discussed the same specimen last year in the forum:
http://www.numismatikforum.de/ftopic27400.html
May I guess that the weight is around 0,5 Gramms, the diameter 1,58 cm and the thickness not more than 0,5 mm?
Regards

Hello Gundars,
thank you for the better image of the coin from Morocco and the diameter. It should be 2 Falus, probably unter Ruler Moulay 'Abd al Rahman (AH1238-76 resp. AD1822-59). Unfortunately, these hammered coins are mostly not in good condition. The final identification is not easy, by the way. The coin could be something like listed in Krause-Mishler's catalogue as C#126b.3.
Greetings to Latvia.

Hello Torfstecher,Torfstecher hat geschrieben:these moroccan coins are cast, not hammered.
you are right. These coins are cast, not hammered, as KM tells us. We can see it, as the edges of these types always lose their way...
