Goetz-Kabinett schließlich sicher an meinem Haus
The 6'8" door to the left of the cabinet gives you a good reference to the size of this thing. 76" tall X 38" wide, 102 drawers. I'm thinking my collection is only going to fill 35 of the drawers at this time....15 drawers for the WWI satirical series alone.
Still in good shape even though the original construction is from the late 1700's.

Thanks for sharing, but you should think about an replacement.
The Aircondition behind the Cabinet on the right side, could damage the Wood and perhaps the Medals if it is in use....

This is only 1/5 of the collection.
Goetz would create the models, moulds and then cast a master model or two. He would then send the master to other medal foundry's that cast pieces for him. They would create moulds from the master, then cast, clean, and chase the new pieces before they were returned as raw medals to Goetz at which time Goetz would apply his personal recipe patina to each medal before it was finished. He would also punch the rim with "KGoeTz" but not with any regularity...some medals have it and some don't.
Many people think Goetz personally made each piece but he didn't...he didn't have time because Goetz created over 800 different medal designs in 60 years!
