Unfortunately I never saw this coin before (although I think it's a beautiful one :) )
But with Oldenburg you should be already on the right way - the first picture shows the citywall with a higher tower in the middle and two smaller towers at the side. Together with the emblem inside the gate - which shows in my opinion the "Oldenburger Grafenschild" - it indicates that these coin comes from Oldenburg. These elements still build up to date the emblem of Oldenburg.

For the weight: A Groten could be true - although the older Groten was often minted with a higher weight, the weight was as far as I know very unstable and changed a lot over the time and minting regions.

Maybe somebody has this book and can tell you more: Die Münzen der Grafen, Herzöge und Grossherzöge von Oldenburg - Heinrich Kalvelage, Hartmut Trippler, Peter Berghaus - ISBN: 3980164411

best regards

Good evening,

I still haven't found the coin - but if you take a look into the Saurmasche collection, then we can find this coin.
So the av is from the same type - and with this we can say that it is really most probably from Oldenburg and even more from the time around 1500. Furthermore the 25 mm fit perfect and the weight is also ok - so it is most probably also a Groten.

For the exact determination you have to look into the book I mentioned before :)

Have a nice evening.
