Re: Unknown medival Pfennig ?
Hi Pinpoint,
I think, Köln is not possible because the obverse shows a woman.
So maybe the woman is an abbess.
For example the abbey of Herford minted several coins that depict the abbess.
Unfortunately I haven't found this coin yet, neither in Cappe, nor in the collection Kennepohl.
Greetings,
Peter

Abtei Quedlinburg, Agnes (1110-1125), Dannenberg 620 - near, but not the same, too.

Re: Unknown medival Pfennig ?
What struck me is the structure below the portal, it seems to be a conifer between two men. But I haven't found a similiar symbol in Rentzmann. Grüße, KarlAntonMartini

Re: Unknown medival Pfennig ?
Hello ,
Thanks for your great help till now
The coin of the Abtei from Quedlinburg comes ferry close , but it is still not the right match.
We think that the structure below the portal is a palm leaf between 2 port pillars.
Until now our experts can not find the exact match even but they will be ferry happy with the image of the Quedlingburg coin.
Kind regards , Pinpoint
